Alzheimer's News at Alzheimer's Notes - Senior Testing

Yoy might enjoy keeping up to date with what's going on at my Alzheimer's Notes blog at b5media, where I co-blog with Liz Lewis. We balance one another really well and enjoy this joint venture.

A topic gets you thinking is Should All Seniors Be Tested for Alzheimer's? And my personal reflections since I'm a senior, Do I Want to Be Tested for Alzheimer's?

I asked for others to share their thoughts. So I’ll begin:

Do I want to be tested? More specifically, do I want someone to say, “You MUST be tested for Alzheimer’s or your likeliness of acquiring it?”
What do you think? Do you want to be tested? Let us know what you think.

Hi Mary Emma, I linked to your blog from your comment. I'm going to add a link to it on my blog. I am part of a whole community of Alzheimer's caregivers/bloggers whose links are listed in my recommended sites. We are our own little support group. I'm looking forward to learning more about you and your writings on your blog and on Alz notes. Thank you.

I say No to mandatory Alzheimer's testing. It should be a personal choice. It is such a devastating diagnosis that should be a personal decision.

Pleased you found this blog, too. I started this one first, then was asked to write Alzheimer's Notes at b5media. So I do much more writing there. However, I've begun to get active on this blog again.

I agree, as I wrote on my post at Alzheimer's Notes, that I don't want mandatory testing. Let that be up to the individual after they've learned the facts...the pros and cons. I'm in that senior age group, so it could affect me if this was ever a law.
